Our History
A Legacy of Innovation and Excellence Since 1966
1966 - Establishment
Ghana Christian University College (GhanaCU), formerly Ghana Christian University College & Seminary, was established in 1966 by American and Ghanaian Christians. The institution was founded to train African Evangelists, Teachers, and Ministers of the Gospel, providing an opportunity for anyone, regardless of church background, to learn the truth from God’s Word without denominational bias.
1998 - Accreditation in Theology
In 1998, the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education, Ghana, accredited the University College's degree and diploma programmes in Theology. This enabled GhanaCU to officially offer degree and diploma certificates to its graduates.
2006 - School of Development Management
In August 2006, GhanaCU received further accreditation to commence a B.A. in Development Management within a newly established School of Development Management, expanding its academic offerings and impact.
Present Day - Impact and Growth
Since its founding, GhanaCU has produced numerous graduates, many of whom have gone on to complete graduate studies at seminaries and universities worldwide, continuing the legacy of excellence and service in ministry and development.
